This wiring harness is inspired by the 50's style wiring from Gibson's Les Paul. It works by allowing you to roll off the volume, but still being able to retain the same tone. Unlike modern wiring, in which, when you roll off the volume it often gets muddy and the 'highs' are lost. This wiring solves that problem.
It features high quality components:
- 3 CTS custom 'True Vintage Taper' (TVT) split-shaft 250k pots
- 1 NOS Russian K40Y-9 paper in oil 0.047uF/0.033uF/0.022uF capacitor
- Oak Grigsby 5-way switch
- Wired 50s style to retain highs with black and white vintage cloth-covered wire
The first pot works as a master volume, the second pot as a master tone and the third is the blender pot. The blender pot works so that when you're in the bridge position, the neck can be blended in. And when you're in the neck position, the bridge can be blended in. In positions 2 and 4 you can have all three pickups on at once. It gives greater versatility over your tone and overcomes a lot of problems with the standard Stratocaster wiring configuration.
All components are the best quality available:
- 2 CTS custom 'True Vintage Taper' (TVT) split shaft 250k pots.
- 1 CTS no-load blender 250k pot
- 1 Oak Grigsby 5-way switch
- 1 NOS Russian K40Y-9 paper in oil 0.022uF/0.033uF/0.047uF cap
- Wired with vintage black and white cloth-covered wire - Black for grounds and white for live runs.
All you need to do is connect the live runs from your pickups to the switch and the ground runs from your pickups to the back of the volume pot (which already has been pre-soldered for ease of use and to avoid over-heating) and you're ready to rock.
This is a standard 4-way Telecaster wiring harness, or is it? It features four tones:
- Neck only
- Neck and bridge in parallel
- Bridge only
- Neck and bridge in series
The neck and bridge in series produces a fatter and hotter output than the standard parallel wiring, which is often preferred by a lot of Tele players. It is also wired "50s style" to retain the highs when rolling off the volume, without the need of a treble bleed.
As always, high quality components:
- 2 CTS custom 'True Vintage Taper' (TVT) solid-shaft 250k pots
- 1 NOS Russian K40Y-9 paper in oil 0.047uF/0.033uF/0.022uF capacitor
- Oak Grigsby 4-way switch
- Switchcraft 1/4" mono jack
- Wired 50s style to retain highs with black and white vintage cloth-covered wire
Go on: set your Tele apart from all others.
